Spring is in the Air!

Hello!

It has been a wonderful past month and a half since my last post...I will be sailing to Europe on April 12th, travel to Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and arrive in Genoa, Italy on April 28th. I then take flight to Paris where I will explore the city for four days which I am thrilled about. Then, on May 2nd, I fly back home to the Big Apple!

I've been really soaking in the sun, excursions, and meeting wonderful people on board! Really inspiring people...This week a man with one-leg was ripping up the dance floor. One of the bar service men talked to me about his being with the company for 20 plus years, without anyone knowing takes a handful of medications every day for his health conditions, but continues to dance and sing his way to serving margaritas and making passengers happy. An elderly couple celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary--their secret? They said they tell each other "I love you" throughout their day--every day--because of how important it is to let those you love know that they are loved. Wow! People from Middle America to Europe have shared their stories with me and has put my life into a clearer perspective. Over these past few months I've certainly grown up into a person I am very proud of. If anything, I've learned most from the people of the Caribbean and how so many live their life..to live life every day in peace and harmony with all. To live life to its greatest potential and love and appreciate your friends and family. Isn't that what life is all about?

Stingray City!

Ok,

I took a 3 mile boat ride from mainland Grand Cayman and suddenly, the water becomes only three feet deep and there are hundreds of stingray swarming the area. It was absolutely amazing and thrilling and scary and exciting....
Here's the evidence that I held and kissed a stingray (apparently it's 7 years good luck which I am totally in favor of). Talk soon!

Lions, and tigers, and naps....oh my!

This was definitely the week of the nap.

The 10 minute nap is definitely one of God's greatest creations, and I took full advantage of this creation...all week long. I may have been coming down with something, so God was like "Will, use the power of the nap to help heal yourself from oncoming cold/cough." So, in always listening to the powers above, I did, and took a few a day!

Seeing some of my best friends' parents this week on the cruise was awesome! So nice to get a touch of the States and home, and I had a great time dining, drinking, and watching the shows with them!

I'm in a Starbucks in Ft. Lauderdale, and I can now hear God saying "Will, get Mocha Frap...get Mocha Frap!"

Feeding Dog Bones to the Fish.

Hello!

In St. Thomas last week I bought 4 dog bones for $1.00 at this beautiful beach. I held onto the dog bone in the water. These fish, big fish, fish the size of my forearm-fish swam up to me and nibbled on the dog bone. It was pretty amazing. I was scared at first, I mean wouldn't you if these big tropical fish decide to nibble from your hand? I mean, I expected fish to nibble because that's what I was told. But these mini-shark-like fish? It was fun. I said goodbye to the fish after feeding them dog bones and then went to this animal park next to the beach and walked amongst these beautiful iguanas. There were at least a dozen or so iguanas just roaming around the park doing there thing. It was fun. Performances are going very well, meeting really fascinating people. Sending my best to ya'll!

Chillaxin'...

Hey guys!

We're both back in Ft. Lauderdale after a great week in the Eastern Caribbean. Met some great people from Germany, who recommended to us some theatres to contact...so who knows...next stop may be Germany!!!

The shows are going really well, and the response remains to be overwhelming. Having an 80 year old woman with her granddaughter both come up to us afterwards with smiles on their faces is priceless. Its moments like these that really make me grateful to be able to do what I love. (sappy Will exits stage left).

No new SHOWBIZ ADVENTURES this week, for Ant and I are working on a new, two-act, program to be pitched to Symphonies and theatres around the world titled "Me & My Shadow," with songs ranging from the Broadway, Standards, Italian, and American Songbooks.

Also, we are going to start combining a lot of the episodes of the SHOWBIZ ADVENTURES, adding commentary, making them more episodic. More details to come!!!

I went skydivin', I went rocky mountain climbin'...sort of!

This week I went gliding through the air in the cliffs of a rainforest in Honduras (called zip lining or zip gliding). To say I conquered many fears would be an understatement, but it was WELL worth it. Videos to come soon!

Also, after our performance on Tuesday, Ant and I met two 80 year old women identical twins. They were the most adorable human beings ever! They even live together! But I don't think that's in the cards for me. No offense, Anthony. 23 years of living with you has been more than enough, thankyouverymuch.

Why is Titanic music playing on a cruise ship?

Hey guys!

I hope all is well with everyone! I am sitting in a Starbucks in San Juan drinking hot water, lemon, and honey because I have a cold and my two shows are tomorrow! I have been Zicam-ing and Airbourning for five days..I'm in a bit of a fight with them.

But onto more important things...they keep playing "My Heart Will Go On" throughout the boat. Yes, its a beautiful song. Yes, its sung by the wonderful "taking chances" Celine Dion...but kids, the older passengers are getting a bit scared. One woman in the buffet said aloud, "I swear, they want us to jump into the life rafts already, I hear that song one more time I may just do it." I laughed to myself, then continued to eat my third bowl of cocoa rice krispies that morning.

In terms of food/diet/exercise, I basically eat like 9 meals a day that consist of the aforementioned chocolate rice krispies, as well as pizza, carrots, peas, cereal, pizza, cereal, little ham sandwiches, pizza, and more cereal while trying to go to the gym ( believe it or not!) 5 times a week. Thanks Jenny Craig!

A true SHOWBIZ week!!!

What a week!

Okay, before I go into the drama that occurred this week, we had a new stop this week...KEY WEST! It was absolutely gorgeous! Besides the beautiful water and beaches, the stores...well...they were raunchy with a capital R. But that's okay, everyone in town was friendly and happy, so we made a 'lil episode about it to be posted soon.

Now to the drama-- such is life in show business, no? Drama makes things exciting once in awhile!

Okay, so, we perform our show every Tuesday, usually one at 7:45PM and one at 9:15PM. Ant and I usually take naps from like 5:30-6:15, then start our warms up, etc. WELLL... the alarm didn't go off! The stage manager called our cabin at 7:42PM asking where we were!!!!!!

Our cabin is three flights away from backstage, so literally in my boxer briefs, I ran into the dressing room where I (thank God) already pre-set my outfit, and was changing into my outfit, putting on my stage make-up, ON THE STAGE right before the curtain opened. I threw the make-up stage left, the curtain opened, and miraculously, although it was 7:50 at this point, Anthony and I had a good show with no problems whatsoever.

It was a backstage experience I secretly wanted to always have...the rush before showtime. But I will NEVER want it to happen again, because I have never freaked out so much. We didn't get into too much trouble, everyone was understanding that we are only human.

So there it is, the Drama of the week. I'm in Ft. Lauderdale right now doing some emailing, and about to upload the video from the week!

Family on Board!!!

Hey guys!

This week has been SO much fun with Mom, Dad, and Annie on board. The port stops have been beautiful, weather perfect, and some pretty funny webisodes to come.

In a nut shell, the week has included my Mom going down a three story water slide almost losing her top, my Dad talking to a lobster in a restaurant in San Juan, me doing trapeze, Anthony snorkling, Annie being repremanded for attempting to tan without her top, and my Mom almost passing out from the massage she got from a woman who "proceeded to go on top of her back, kneeding every muscle with her elbow."

Now I'm off to a final dinner, with my family in their togas for it's Roman Night on the ship.

BTW, the performances this week were our best yet! The audiences were so gracious and seemed to enjoy themselves!

Okay, so I'm in Ft. Lauderdale right now with Ant outside the Mac Store trying to download our new vids. But some updates from the week...

first off, two nights ago was probably one of the bumpiest/turbulent/scary moments of my life as the ship was going through some rough wavage (is that a word). In any event, the boat was a shakin' and my stomach was a not a feelin' good. But thank God, no throwing up took place.

New Years was nothing short of amazing. Just a fun time all around with my new friends on board with dancing, some bubbly, and a crazy Alice in Wonderland adventure (see the New Years episode to come)

Grand Turk seems to be my favorite place of all the places we've been. The water is turquoise, the sand is white, and anyplace that has a pool with a bar in it is nothing short of amazing with a capital a.

And finally, and most excitingly, my parents and sister, Annie, are on the boat this week!!!! Can't wait to show them around, for them to see our show, meet our new friends, and experience the ship life for a week. I think we're going to go snorkeling with the dolphins on Wednesday! Updates to come!

I miss you all, and computer-time onboard is getting tough only because its so expensive, thus updating the blog has been tough.

What a week!

Ok, I'm in Fort Lauderdale typing outside of the Apple Store. It's 10AM, the internet is free, a little cranky eversince Will woke me up at 6:30ish am so excited to be in America he started marching up and down our 2 foot cabin singing God Bless America. OK!, so this week was great really got to be-friend some great people in the singing/dancing ensemble on the Costa Mediterranea. Very crazy fun wild bunch of chaps. OK, so went to Old San Juan Puerto Rico--very antiquated buildings, narrow streets, friendly people, my cell phone worked, I had a quesedilla and a slurpee. Very exciting things. OK, so Will decided he wanted to sing "America" from West Side Story, god bless Will.

St. thomas was serene. I danced down the streets and met a donkey named Oprah.

Oh, Oh! Ok, so the other night, um, it was December 26th, and I was getting chocolate ice cream on the 9th deck buffet and ran into the Weinstein family. They were, yes, playing Pictionary. I didn't have my ice cream yet, but when I passed by them, they all waved and said good show, I said thank you, and then I said "Um, Pictionary? I don't want to interrupt, but can I play?" And so I did. For 1 hour and 45 minutes. Close to 2 hours of Pictionary with the Weinsteins was a great time. I love drawing pictures and competitive games. They were my family for the evening. I gave them the tour of theater at 1AM and that was fun!!! In fact, two days later I played the card game Apples to Apples with them. First time playing that game. It was fun! Thank you Weinsteins!

La Romana, Dominican Republic was beautiful, I bought a native sculpture that totally looked like the oracle thing from Nickelodeon's "Legends of the Hidden Temple", remember? Oh! I also sat on my glasses, they broke in half, and tried super glueing them, didn't work at all, instead I got glue on both thumbs and and right pointer finger and I scrubbed forever with a scrubber thing and all is great now...I'm sitting in a massage chair outside the Apple Store, but since it isn't on, the two balls that massage your back are digging into me and I'm losing feeling in the back, but I'm fine. Happy New Year!!!

I rode a donkey named Oprah on Christmas

Hey guys!!!

Feliz Navidad!

Right now I am on the island of St. Thomas, and literally just rode a donkey named Oprah. Was quite the experience, pics and vids to come on Saturday!

Last night for Christmas Eve, Ant and I sang with the other entertainers on board a few carols, and then sang as a duet "Santa Claus is Coming To Town." I jazzed up the ending Aretha-style. Oops!

Also last night, with some of the dancers on board I have befriended, we all went to the disco club on board and got jiggy wit' it. Everyone was doing the "Will" which consists of biting of the side of your lip while pumping your shoulders up and down. What can I say, I'm a dork, but people seemed to like it. HAHA!

Yesterday during the day was spent in beautiful San Juan where Anthony and I did a rendition of "America" and also, at one point, Ant decided to desert me in the middle of no where. All of this and more to be seen in the videos to be posted on Saturday when we port in Ft. Lauderdale. YAY!

We are editing the St. Thomas one now, and are about to head to a tech rehearsal for our second show! We have shows tonight at 7:45 and 9PM, singing many of the same Italian songs we sang last week, and adding some American Songbook/ Broadway ones.

Off to San Juan with Mr. Magoo

Hey guys! Right now I'm in the middle of a lot of water. What sea it is, I couldn't tell you. It's a light blue color, and quite beautiful, but name...well...I wish I had a map, then I'd know.

Ant and I are excited we were able to post 6 of our episodes up while at port in Fort Lauderdale. We found a Mac store in the Galleria in the city, and were able to get an internet signal. YAY! I also went to CVS to buy some more sun tan lotion because I got a little burnt on my back, and it looks like I am half human/half lobster.

Last night was a bit bumpy wumpy. I didn't get to sleep until around 3am it was so bad. Sea life is definitely something to get used to. But believe it or not, I haven't gotten sea sick yet, and I don't even wear the motion sickness bracelets that Anthony has on 24/7.

We are what they call "at sea" right now, and will be in San Juan tomorrow. Today Ant and I have a rehearsal for the Christmas show they are doing on Christmas Eve...the Cruise Director is having us sing a solo each. I think I'm going to sing "The Christmas Song" aka "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire," or at least that's what I know it as. After that rehearsal, we will be going through the shows we are doing on Tuesday as apart of our headlining act that we do at 7:45 and 9PM in the big theatre. Last time we did strictly Italian music, but this time around we are going to mix in some Broadway and Standard classics, so I'm pumped for that!

Overall, everyone from the crew to the passengers, to the people of the different islands have been amazing. I am learning so much, and truly realizing how diverse and wonderful this world can be amidst the chaos of war.

I'm off to the gym, then I have to go wake Anthony up now. Mr. Magoo/Mr. Rogers Neighborhood (I call him either on any given day) is sleeping like the Grandpa he is and always sleeps through the alarm.

I am writing from the internet port on the Costa Mediterranea, it costs a million dollars, so I'm going to give you brief little run down on what the shizzle is happening with many a typo. It's absoultely ridiculous what's gong on here.

It's Monday. It think, yeah, it's Monday. Just got back from a few hours in Cozumel, Mexico. The ship leaves in a bit to Grand Cayman Islands, Will and I perform our first show Tuesday night. Ok, I take a flight from Laguardia in NY to Ft. Lauderdale. How was the flight, Anthony? Um, it was not good. The most turbulent flight ever. I was past the point of scared so everytime the plane dropped 20 stories during the 2 hour King-da-Ka roller coaster I laughed like a crazy person. BTW, lots of crazy video being edited and will be up soon (from the flight, cruise, Cozumel, etc.). I'm sitting in the last row of the Delta flight, so the bathrooms are right there, smelled great, then during the height of the bumpiness the stewardess behind me guarding the emergency exit at the back of the plane looked at me deadpan and actually told me, "Honey, even if something was going wrong, I couldn't tell you." That made me feel really warm and fuzzy on the inside. Survived the plane ride from Haides, got to Ft. Lauderdale, warm, I stripped my sweatpants, had on a bathing suit, and went to the boat.

Day One (Saturday afternoon) was fun. We are in a nice room, bunk beds, bathroom, it's fun. More on this in the videos. I lost money playing Bingo. Graciella, an elegant woman in her 50s from England sitting next to me, lost too but bought me a drink! She was nice and reminded me A LOT of Elaine Stritch. Oh, I got these wrist bands that keep me from getting dizzy. They're my voodoo bracelets. So I skipped Sunday, it's fine, there was a boat drill, I thought our ship was sinking, boths eyes turned yellow but I'm fine, and I received Communion, but all that is fine.

So yeah, I met this lovely matron of a woman Yolanda in Cozumel. Just the name made me say in my mind (all you New Yorkers may know this from TV) "This is Yolanda Vega from Win 4 the first ball up, etc. Anyway, she was whistling me down to buy from her vendor. She had all this witchcraft stuff. Skulls, bracelets, hair extensions. I think she was a voodoo lady, but I have never met a voodoo person before so I really wouldn't know, and I didn't know how to say in Spanish, "Are you voodoo lady?"

She wanted to sell me a bracelet for 5 dollar. I said "1 dollar." Then she said, "Gemellos?" And I said, "Yes, twins, gemellos!" She responds--which made me laugh so hard my chicken enchillada was having a field day in my estomigo--"Ah Dios! Two of you! Besos! Besos!" She proceeded to kiss us both. And she definetly did. So we took a picture with her. She will be on the blog. I bought a bracelet from her for $5 because she was so nice. I will see Yolanda in two weeks.

Will's First Blog from the Ship!!!!

Ummm...so I was kinda tired when I entered my room on the ship...anywho...

Hey guys!!! I'm in the Internet Cafe right now, where it's like a million dollars a minute, so I'm gonna type as fast as I can!

Right now we are on our way to Turks & Cakos (is that how you spell it?) Ant and I did some of our own picture taking and video-ing today.

While I was video-ing inside the gorgeous gym of a woman sunbathing, the security man yelled at me. I thought I was going to be fired. Nonetheless, I still got some great footage of the ship, and met some wonderfully funny people in the Casino on board.

The flight to Ft. Lauderdale was SO bumpy. The turbulence was intense. As the woman next to me said her decadent, the flight attendant sitting in the back with us (oh yea, Ant and I were in the las seats of the back of the plane) well, I asked her "Is this turbulence normal?" Now, if I were her, I'd try to calm the passenger down. But nooooo, she said, "This is very unusual, I hope we're okay."

On the flight I got some great shots of the flight attendant reading the National Inquierer. And of the bathroom. And of the woman sitting next to me sleeping. All photos and videos by the way are going to be posted (fingers crossed) once we get back to main land in Ft. Lauderdale next week.

So, back to the ship. My room is being shared with Anthony. It's really small (bunk beds, a desk, a closet, a tiny bathroom with shower). It's literally 1/4 the size of a normal dorm room. It's small, but I'm stoked because it has a tv and a DVD player.

The boat is literally a floating paradise city. 10 floors that include two state of the art gyms, half a dozen restaurants and cabarets, a dance hall, bars, a 1200-seat theatre where we'll be performing twice on Wednesday night, a few pools, jacuzzis, massage places, spas, two casinos, a library/internet cafe, a shopping mall (yes, a mall on board...where I just bought Renu contact solution and motion sickness bracelets because it's getting bumpy, kids), umm...what else? The videos and pics to come will describe the rest. AND OMG! There's this blue water slide that litereally is four stories tall, and does like a curly q's into the main pool. It reminded me of the play-pens they have at McDonald's. I don't know why.

And the ocean. Like, we're in the middle of the ocean. I looked out and was like "Oh my God, our world is so much bigger than I thought." I said this to myself, obviously. But truly. The ocean seemed to go on forever, and gave me this perspective like, "Wow, there's so much out there." I almost broke out into "Somewhere Out There," but the two women from Jamaica sitting in the lounge chairs next to me may have thrown me overboard.

Oohhhh....speaking of overboard, today we had a drill where all crew had to grab there life jackets and escort all the passengers to different parts of the boat. I guess they do an Emergency Drill once a week on board. Anthony and I got so scared when we heard the sirens, that we locked ourselves in our rooms. I thought we were going to get in trouble, but was later told we didn't have to take part in it because it wasn't in our contract. Phew!

So far, so good. I am eating A TON (it's all free) and its delish, and I am trying to workout everyday as well. So between the eating and bench pressing, I hope to come back B&B...buff and black. We shall see. As they say on the Costa Cruise Line..."CIAO!"
